Hi Everyone and welcome to the New Year
I just want to wish Auntie Ellen a very happy birthday. The parents are going out for a meal tonight with her so we are going to have to fit lots of cuddles in today.
Right, first to some news.
Even though it was New Years Day things go on as normal here at NICU. SO as it was sunday yesterday i was weighed.
And, I have gone up to a massive 3lbs 5oz (1.5kg). This means that i have put half my body weight on since i was born. To put it into normal terms that is like my uncle Ian weighing 10 stones a month before Christmas (yeah right!) and then weighing 15 stone after new year(more like it!). Don't mean it unc, have a good day at work tomorrow!
Yesterday was really nice for mum. As we were having cuddles, i started rooting. This means that i can smell the breast milk and i start sucking. The nurses decided to try me out to see if i would attach and i did. These photographs are buried in the deepest vaults of dads computer so unfortunately no xxx rated on here.
However you will just have to do with a photo of me and dad. I think from this photo he looks really proud of me. Either that or he is thinking 'just wait til you are 16 you little pain'!
So things are going really well. I am still having desats and the doctors keep on suggesting new things. What they are trying to do is rule out anything that might be a problem so that in the end they can say confidently, 'its because she is a normal little girl'.
The latest was that my hemo levels were dropping and they thought that i might need a blood transfusion, which is not uncommon.
Well nuts to that. Yesterday my hemo levels started to rise again.
I will be seeing lots of people this week, like Uncle Sneag back from his cruise.
So i will keep you all posted.
Night night from NICU

Happy New Year to you Zoe, perhaps you would pass that sentiment on to your Mum Dad too. Uncle Graham was really pleased to have your birthday card (not so pleased to have the text from Mum but only because he couldn't sing it!) I went to the pantomime with Sophie and her Mum yesterday and when it finished we did a little shopping for guess who? Watch the post in the next few days!! Dan, Fee and Nathan were here on New Years Day, we played a few games and the girls won (even though it was 2 v 3), girl power still rules! Uncle Graham has gone back to work today but is hurrying home as Dad has probably told you that Arsenal are playing somebody tonight and he can't miss it. Keep putting on the weight (why doesn't someone say that to me ?), will come to see you again shortly, lots of love Auntie Anne and Uncle Graham xxx
Just a couple of small factual errors, which I'm sure your father is peddling to you as gospel... Uncle Ian is not 15 stone after Christmas. However, neither was he 10 stone before. He is, however, very impressed with you and your weight gain! Keep it up and you'll be a right porker by the time I see you again ;-) xxx
