A Very Big Walk

So here we are, getting ready for another walk. And we are going up...

...there. Those of you who did the 3 peaks walk earlier this year will particularly remember this.

This is Whernside, the highest hill in Yorkshire. And we are going up it. Madness. MADNESS!!

Well we had better get on with it then. At least i am a passenger for most of the way!!

Fortunately the way is well sign posted. Its really warm and sunny though.

Must be quite hard for dad. Shame!! You shouldn't drag me up these stupid things then should you!!

Here is mum putting her best foot forward. For once she's not at the back.

The views are pretty fantastic though. You can see for miles.

You don't see this very often. We were buzzed by a bomber, which is pretty strange as we were actually higher up than it!!

This is about half way up and it is pretty spectacular.

Now this is the bit where dad normally says 'we are near the top, just over that rise'.

And this is the bit where Auntie Ellen will tell you there are about 5 more tops before we get there!!

However, to be fair to dad it's not that much further and here we are at the top.

Right, time to find somewhere comfy for lunch.

What do you mean, did i pack the sandwiches!! You had better be kidding!!

And i don't know why you are looking so happy and proud of yourself - we stil have to get back down!!

So on we go and its time to head back to Ingleton.

Now they way down is a lot different than the way up.

It's a lot darker and gloomier. However there are some pretty spectacular gulleys as the river winds its way down to the village.

You certainly wouldn't want to fall in one of these. You wouldn't come up again in a hurry that's for sure!!

So I'm going to stay right here where it is safe until we get to the bottom.

The Waterfalls

As i said earlier, today we are doing the famous waterfalls walk at Ingleton!

Dad says that he used to come and do this walk a long time ago when he used to come and stop with his Aunt Joan and Uncle Harry.

First things first, and of course the mutt has to go for his usual swim!!

And off we go. Now it is a very gentle and easy walk.

Well it is for me at least!!

The path winds up a vally alongside the river for a few miles, and there are several really impressive waterfalls...

and especially this one!! This is Thornton Force which is right at the top of the valley!!

From here we have to cut across to the other side of the valley and then follow another river down. There's not a lot to see, just farms and sheep, so i'll see you at the other side!!

Money doesn't grow on trees, young girl!

Yes it does dad. Look at that over there.

Another day and another walk. We are doing the famous Ingleton Waterfalls Walk today (more later) and this is one of the unusual sights that you see - a money tree.

Actually it's the result of a tradition that saw people push coins into the bark of the tree. The whole of the tree is now covered in old coins. Pretty weird looking.

Hi everyone.

I just wanted to put these in because they are some really nice photos of me and my mum.

I also wanted to say that the ordnance survey maps are wrong! We stopped here after a nice long walk with the promise of a couple of pints and a packet of crisps.

However it is no longer a pub!!! Unless of course this is one of Kimbo's maps of legend!

This tranquil looking place (tranquil until we arrived mind you) is called Tarn Hawes in the Lakes. It is not far from where we were staying so off we popped for a day.

After a nice stroll round the lake on Dad's back (!) we stopped and had a picnic for lunch.

Frodo however had other things on his mind (with much encouragement from dad i might add).

Well i have my wellies on so lets give it a go.

Now i need a little bit of help from dad of course (always on the watch for a sneaky splash i might also add).

This is kind of fun, and i'm sure that i can catch dad with some of those splashes.

And so we head back. I've had a pretty hectic day so i'll just catch some zzzzzz's in the car.

Parklife

This is way back in the mists of time. At the end of September last year we went on our family holiday to Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales.

Whilst we were there we found a pretty fabulous park where i had loads of fun.

I kept dragging mum and dad down here every day.

Hi Everyone

I'm really sorry that i have been incredibly slack on the blogger.
Part of the reason has been that we have had problems logging into it since we made the switch in email names.
However thanks to the skill of a computer wizard (no not dad, uncle Ian of course) I can now log on and continue to do my little bits.
Now i have a long way to go back so it will take a little time. So keep watching this space and we are so, so sorry!

Well it's a week later...

...and we are camping again. Now mum did take a lot of photos but they are still at grandad's.

However the weather this weekend was really sunny and hot. So down to the beach it was.

Here is me with a very happy Linz, and a very happy Tash, and Kirsty!!

Now mum bought me a little suit to protect me and at first i though i would look a right fool.

However Linz very generously looked a bigger one to deflect the criticism.

Just one question though. Where is dad!

Well he is up here. This is a photo taken on top of England. Finally he managed to find the top of Scafell. I say found the top, though how you could see anyhting up there i do not know!!

Dib dib dib!!

Well not actually but it was another first.

We went camping in August. We went with Tash, Kirsty and Linz to a place in Derbyshire near to Ashbourne.

So we enjoyed things like eating al fresco,

and and i slept with linz in our own little bedroom.

However on saturday it pored it down and kept on into Sunday.

So we came home!! Better look next weekend as i go to Norfolk with Mum and Auntie Ellen's lot!

And dad is wearing a dress this time too. Well a skirt actually.

It was Justin and Emma's wedding this month. They are the parents of my friend Lili-Mai, whom you may recall I was in the hospital with all those months ago.

Finally Justin has made an honest woman (yeah right of emma).

Also there was my friend Abigail, who was also in hospital with us.

And yes it is the same hat.

Its not that we are trend setters, its just that dad and Abi's mum are both tight and bought the same knocked down hat!!

Anyway the grub is coming out so i had better behave! Right what am i supposed to do witht his and why are there so many foks!!

No but i look like a massive big pink dollop of angel delight!!

However it was a surprise birthday party for Dan Morris this month so we all got dressed up in our finest.

He was 30, and he didn't have the faintest idea about it.

Lots of sun though and plenty of times for cute poses...

...with dad (not looking cool)

and with mum (not looking sober)

and even with grumpy graham (and if he pours that pint on my head i won't be happy)!!

At the end of the day though you just have to go rooting in the undergrowth and getting nice and dirty!

Finally, the sun is out.

No worries, it's only August!!

However now it is here, at last i can have fun in the garden.

You may have noticed that dad has increased the size of the swing for me now. I can just save a little time by swinging on this bar though. Which dad is not happy about at all.

Here is me and Frodo. He never gets a moments rest these days. I follow him everywhere and the only time he stops is when i go down for a nap!

Fun on the Farm

Well the bad weather can't put us of having fun.

This weekend Mum and I went to meet up with some of mums old friends at a fun farm park near Southwell.

This is me with Rosemary who brought her two daughters Elizabeth and Courtney,

and we also met up with Estelle and Samuel. You may remember that i went to Samuel's christening last year.

Anyway there were loads of animals like goats...

...and chicks.

And then we had a great time on the swings.

Before a bit of Massey Tractor racing (i'm in the lead - dad would be so jealous)

And then it was off to the ball pit for a bit of fun.

As you can see Samuel was having fun too.

And they had a huge soft play. I went right to the top, under the watchful gaze of my two new friends of course.

In fact the only bad thing was when i had to come down and leave
